Amir H. Najafi, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Dr. Amir Najafi is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with more than 21 years of experience caring for patients across the greater Baltimore region. His clinical expertise includes preventive and general cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, diagnostic angiography, coronary intervention, and structural heart disease.
Dr. Najafi believes exceptional heart care begins with listening. His approach is to understand the whole patient—not simply a diagnosis or test result—and to explain findings and treatment options in clear, understandable terms. He combines advanced cardiovascular expertise with compassion, personal attention, and shared decision-making, treating each patient with the same care and concern he would want for a member of his own family.
This philosophy is at the heart of the Integra method: bringing together symptoms, medical history, diagnostic testing, lifestyle, and individual goals to create a thoughtful, personalized care plan. Dr. Najafi's goal is for every patient to feel heard, informed, and confident in the decisions they make about their heart health.
Dr. Najafi is one of a small number of cardiologists nationwide to hold five board certifications: internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He has also been named a Top Doctor by Baltimore magazine for 11 consecutive years, from 2015 through 2025—a distinction based on peer recognition.
Dr. Najafi completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center and an advanced fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, graduating at the top of his class, and his cardiovascular research has been published in respected scientific journals.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and a member of the American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and American Vein Forum.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Najafi enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, cycling, tennis, and music.
